- Personnel operating DC high-voltage testers must be certified professionals holding a "High-Voltage Testing Qualification Certificate."
- When using this instrument, users must comply with Article 168 of the "Electric Power Safety Regulations" and install two clearly identifiable disconnect points before connecting the working power supply to the tester. When replacing test samples or wiring, both power disconnect points must be clearly disconnected first.
- Prior to the test, verify that the grounding wires of the tester control box, voltage multiplier cylinder, and test specimen are properly connected. The grounding wire of the test circuit shall be connected to a single point as specified in this manual.
- For large-capacity test specimens, discharge should be performed using a 100 Ω/V discharge resistor rod. During discharge, the rod must not contact the specimen immediately; instead, it should be gradually moved toward the specimen until a certain distance is reached where air discharge begins with a hissing sound. Once no sound is heard, discharge may proceed using the rod, followed by direct grounding for final discharge.
- When the DC high voltage reaches 200 kV or higher, even though test personnel wear insulating shoes and operate at a safe distance, the spatial electric field distribution of high-voltage DC ions can cause adjacent standing personnel to carry different DC potentials. Personnel must avoid shaking hands or touching grounded surfaces, as this may result in mild electric shocks—particularly noticeable in dry regions and during winter—but such shocks are generally harmless due to their low energy level.
- After completing the test, the grounding wire must be connected to the high-voltage output terminal before removing the high-voltage lead.
- A reliable grounding must be ensured during use. The high-voltage lead-out cable must not be held in hand for safety reasons.
The HGZGF series DC high-voltage tester is a new-generation portable DC high-voltage tester designed and manufactured in accordance with the latest China power industry standard DL/T848.1-2004 "General Technical Requirements for DC High-Voltage Generators." It is primarily suitable for power departments, industrial and mining enterprises, metallurgical plants, steel mills, and other corporate power units to conduct DC withstand voltage tests on high-voltage electrical equipment such as zinc oxide surge arresters, power cables, transformers, and generators.
